“My mother said I learned to dance before I walked. Listening and telling stories, singing, dancing, inventing - these were the most vivid colours of my childhood. A time spent watching my grandmother, who cooked deliciously and furiously and from whom I inherited the love of books, movies, theatre. Storytelling has always been the calling of my soul. Asking powerful questions is my Nature.”
Woman, storyteller, cantadora, asker, listener. Actress, poet, seeker, jester. Female. Mother. Brazilian immigrant. Latina. Researcher of the Feminine. Empowerer of Women, conductor of Circles. Jungian analyst. Oraculist - or Communicator of the Divine Feminine Archetypes (I lake chatting with Goddesses). Gemini with Rising Gemini.
The fabric of which I am made is intertwined by all these (and many other) characteristics, which are merged and revealed in my work.
In a whirlwind path, similar to those of the fairytales I love to tell, I have over a decade of experience in women's groups and feminist activism groups. These experiences have germinated and blossomed inside me, teaching me the subtle art of listening to women's stories and their inner world.
I blended storytelling, the art of my heart, with my desire to use stories as medicine for self-knowledge and healing. My research on stories that represent women truthfully is based on a Jungian perspective. To that I incorporate my knowledge of art therapy, ancestral roots, my intuition and spirituality - giving shape to the Healing Stories and all my body of work.
